Yes...they have a nice bar.
The beef gravy is now light to dark brown, it depends what was cooked with it. I've never had a problem with any of the gravies. Give it another chance.
Good food and a great waitress. Love the seating and no rush atmosphere.
Let's see... I had a huge rib eye steak to lobster tails and to shrimp cocktails. One of my buddies ate a very nice meal also. 1 of our favorite places to go now. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating. They should put more seasoning on their stake. Just kind of a big bland piece of meat. This coming from a guy who eats stakes everywhere. I will be going back.
We were very disappointed in our meal. Chicken tasted like it was microwaved, my steak was smaller than my baked potato, and not flavorful, as advertised. Even the desserts weren't good. Boston Creme Pie with hardly any filling and the lemon meringue pie was a very strange consistency.
Not a lot of choices in Bedford so our family tends to end up here when we visit family there. When I think steakhouse, I think Ruth's Chris or Del Frisco's. Ed's is not that...not even close. Its more of a diner/family restuarant with a large menu, friendly service and mostly mediocre food at a decent value. If you think of yourself as a foodie, keep driving. If you need to feed the family, give Ed's a try.
Very nice place for our chapter's Christmas dinner. Waitresses so attentive, food delicious, room to ourselves for fun and games.
Great food, great price!!! Fish and sirloin tips are amazing! Awesome atmosphere as well.
We were in the area for a wedding. Decided on Ed's Steakhouse for a quick lunch to-go before the afternoon ceremony. Our order ranged from a chicken salad to cheeseburger to steak. Everything was absolutely perfect! We loved the food so much that we ate an early dinner there the next day before heading home. Beautiful inside! Delicious food! Great service! Wish it was closer to our home! Highly recommend!
Good affordable food. Enjoyed black n blue burger. Great waitress. Good bar.
Parmesan crusted fish delicious...did not care for veggies. Service very good.
Honestly, this place exceeded my expectations. The steak was good, it needed a little salt, but it was a decent cut of meat and had good flavor. The baked potato was done well and the bread was a little on the dry side but not bad. My wife had the Boston creme pie for dessert and liked it. Overall, this feels more like a diner than a true steakhouse (example - paper napkins vs cloth) but it’s a fine choice if you’re on the road and need to stop for dinner.
This place is fantastic got the NY strip 12oz medium and was cooked perfectly would highly recommend this place to my friends and family. Thanks for a great meal
First experience was today...took over an hour to get our lunch. When food arrived it was cold and overcooked. We ordered steak, chicken and shrimp and loaded baked potatoes. When we went to pay our bill, the employee just made excuses and said they had a record amount of people just in. There were only 3 tables in our area that had people in them. Probably won't be back. So disappointing!
Food was delicious. Prices were competitive. The server did a great job. We were celebrating Valentine's Day and had to sit in the bar. The atmosphere was not very romantic which is what we were looking for.
My parents live in this town. And when I visit we go on Fridays for the all you can eat fried fish. I don't know what recipe they use or where it comes from but I crave this savory hidden treasure. They have been in business for many many years and the prices are outstanding. Its a family run well run establishment that never disappoints.
Poor wine selection. We stopped by for just a moment to see what kind of vino they had at Ed’s. We were disappointed. Bar looked cozy though.
This was a fantastic meal. Great food (a lot of food) and great service. I was part of a bus tour and they were very prepared and organized. I wish I lived closer to them.
Great menu options steak, chicken, burgers. nice staff. Neat little gift shop. 2nd time there will be back.
I had the prime rib which wasnt bad. My girlfriend ordered a steak that she could not even eat. She took one bite and had to spit it out. It was so rubbery she could not even stick her fork in it to cut it. The waitress was very good though.
This place is awesome didn't wait long for my food or drinks and the food is amazing so good I had to write this review while eating it the bar tender Doris was so cool. Extremely satisfied will food and service
I ordered the citrus salmon salad ....i wish I would have taken a picture...i was a small bed of spinach with a little bit of canned pineapple tidbits and mandarin oranges that looked like someone else had chewed them already..the glazed salmon tasted horrible on its own and needed to be doused with the dressing...on and there was cilantro! Just a big old pile of cilantro hidden under the fruit mess! Do not reccommend. Husband had the turkey dinner and it seriously brought make middle school lunch vibes! Eww! Had to ask for everything from the waiter...aside from the place looking good and having ample apacing during this covid nightmare it was a horrible dinner
I like the place remind me of an Old Country Inn where the service and the food is always good and the waitress has all your interest in mind getting your appetizers to you on time before the meal comes and delivering the meal in the Speedy time and then coming back and check in on you to make sure everything was fine at your table and then after you eat your dinner they brought you your dessert menu and see if you'd like to have anything for dessert before they closed out your bill so all in all it was a nice restaurant with nice people and good food
Great Friday Fish Fry with beer batted whitefish and an excellent chocolate moousse
Stopped here for lunch while on a bus trip to NYC. Waitress gave us 2 tiny loaves of bread for our entire table of 12. When i asked for more bread, so we could make sure everyone got a piece, she told me “garlic rounds were coming” and avoided me for the rest of the meal. We never received our bread. Our food came and tasted like leftover thanksgiving food—cold turkey, cold mashed potatoes/gravy, and frozen vegetables that you could tell they just heated in the microwave. Very disappointed in the quality of food as well as the attitude of the wait staff.
Nice steak. Service was a little slow but the staff was pleasant.
Another great meal at Ed's the only problem was no pepper available on the table which I understand due to the virus no condiments can be on the table still top 3 best places to eat in Bedford!
The food was delicious and for it to be Valentine's day, we didn't have to wait long. My only issue was about the staff. They started cleaning up around us like they were rushing us out, even though they didn't close for another 2 hours.
The food was great, as usual. Staff was courteous and followed CDC guidelines, which made us feel more comfortable.
Their bbq beans, oh my gosh.lemon pepper haddock's good
Was really a terrific place to eat. They have a little gift shop as you enter. The restaurant is large with lots of seating. They also have a bar, with a nice variety of wine and mixed drinks. And a large menu with a nice variety of food to choose from. They also serve gluten free bread with your meal. The food is really delicious. Nice friendly good staff. And plenty of free parking.
I had to go in to change my review, the past 2 visits we have made were terrible. Both Friday nights, I get this is a busy evening to dine here but our most recent was just like the time before except this time we made reservations, we had to wait to be seated. We sat down, the waitress took our drink order but we also ordered our food at the same time to quicken the process. That proved NOT to work. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Never got offered a loaf of bread, we received our entrees before we even saw our salads and sides and worse yet we were left staring at our entrees because we had NO SILVERWARE. Like I said this is the second time this has happened to us. The first time I thought maybe the waitress was new, the second time it was a different waitress and the same thing happened but worse. Ed's has been one of our go to restaurants for some time but I can't handle poor service twice in a row.
Consistently good food, it's a nice space inside and there's always great service! I always look forward to stopping there when in Bedford.
Good food and great atmosphere
Great stop in Bedford... good food and great service
We got all u can eat fish meal was delicious and great service
Very good steaks that are well prepared and served with a good selection of sides. The fóod and the vibe are what one would expect in a steak house.
Staff was great and friendly cooks are a little slow but food was great pecan pie warmed up is excited.
This is a really nice place to stop and eat. We have never stopped before and decided to try it. It is really quiet even with a bar area. It has booths and also big halls for groups. They have daily specials too besides their regular menu. The have a lot of choices for steaks, but have s really good variety of options including turkey, burgers, and seafood. The food we ate was very good too. We will definitely be stopping again when we come by. No more fast food joints when we come through the area anymore. This restaurant is located at a large intersection of the turnpike, routes 230, and 99. It also is not too far out of the Bedford town area. It is easy off and on from the turnpike too if you wanted a good sit down dinner instead of turnpike fast foods. Highly recommended and lots of parking.
Had the 8oz filet, not quite medium, but so delicious, definitely recommend.
Very helpful server. Clean restaurant and restroom. Sirloin tips were well seasoned and the kitchen accommodated our special requests. Unfortunately the side salad was lackluster including the iceberg lettuce having turned pink/brown and very little else in the salad. To the restaurant: please switched your table cleaning solution to something unscented as well as something not sprayed. Being nearby when you spray tables with a highly fragranced, strong cleaning solution is disruptive to a nice meal as well as bothers folks with breathing issues, allergies or chemical sensitivities.
Food decent. Nice throwback to the late 50s early 60s decor. Service was slow.
The food was excellent, the beer was cold. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive to whatever we needed. Will definitely be back!
Alyssa is an awesome waitress. She's great and the food is great too.
The food here is to be desired.. reasonable service and very nice staff. The filet mignon is very tasy
Great place, just a parking lot away from the Super 8 that we stayed at, great food and scenery
Staff wasn't friendly. They couldn't get orders right. Spilling drinks. Terrible service. Food was mediocre. I'd expect more from a low key town steakhouse. They're supposed to be the best in that little town. Sloppy.
Great steaks as well as their other dishes. Service was great also. I've been stopping there for years and they never let me down. So much better than eating at a turnpike service plaza.
Seems like Ed's has been there forever. Always good food, good service, clean environment. Great place to stop for lunch, conveniently located right off Bedford exit of the turnpike. I figure I started stopping with my parents about 50 years ago and continue to stop whenever I'm visiting western PA.
For the price the food was not the greatest was overcooked no flavor and small portions but the staff was very friendly
We've never had a bad meal there & the wait staff is always very cordial.
